Boris Lenko / Scarlatti - Haydn Sonatas (Pavlik Records 2010)

The prominent Slovak accordionist Boris Lenko has brought out a new CD. The musician, who has dedicated himself mainly to new music and cross-over projects in recent years, has this time studied the classics of music literature for keyboard instruments- Haydn´s and Scarlatti´s sonatas. The compositions, which were originally created for cembalo, are nowadays played by pianists and cembalists alike, and can also be found in the repertoire of accordionists. Lenko, however, overturns the traditional perceptions about accordion interpretation of the classic repertoire, refuses to imitate the massive sound of the organ and directs his sound ideal to the legacy of the greats of piano interpretation. Clarity and transparency of sound, timeless interpretation of the classics and incredible virtuosity- this is Boris Lenka´s new CD. The CD is of top audophile quality, recorded on both sides of the disc, as a CD and DVD Audio with multi-channel reproduction.
